In recent months, reports and rumors of missing children in Cameroon have created growing fear among parents and communities. What was once a normal daily routine children going to school, visiting friends, or playing outside now causes anxiety for many families.Parents have become more protective, constantly checking on their children and warning them about strangers and unsafe places. In some neighborhoods, children are no longer allowed to move around alone, while schools and communities are trying to increase vigilance.Beyond the headlines and social media posts are families living with emotional pain and uncertainty. The fear of a child not returning home has become a silent worry shared by many parents across the country. Social media has helped spread awareness, but it has also fueled panic through unverified information and rumors. This makes it even more important for citizens to stay alert while sharing only confirmed information. Protecting children is not only the responsibility of parents. Communities, schools, authorities, and society as a whole all have a role to play. Every child deserves to grow up in safety, and every parent deserves peace of mind.
